"Orpheus" - symphonic poem for piano solo (extract)

  played by the composer

Orpheus is the myth of recovery through death. Music is the medium by which stones are softened, abysses are opened, glances are given soul - by taking hold of and by tugging the heart strings. Orpheus has softened stones, hearts of stone. He has opened the Underworld. Which love does he wish to free? An allegory, a woman, Music? He is able to make his wish come true,  and does not lose Eurydice forever, but wins her back.
